David Ramirez Jr., PT, FAAOMPT
Board Certified Physical Therapist
David Ramirez Jr. is certified in sports and orthopedic manual therapy as well as a fellow of the American Academy of Manual Physical Therapists. David specializes in orthopedic and manual physical therapy for the active individual, post operative rehabilitation, overhead athletes, weight lifters, and orthopedics. He attended the New Mexico Military Institute where he received an Associate’s Degree with a concentration in biology, moved on to St. Mary’s University here in San Antonio where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Sports Science and eventually graduated from PT school at the University of Texas Medical Branch.
David was involved in competitive athletics his entire life which eventually led him to St. Mary’s University where he played collegiate baseball. His love for the science and complexity of movement, exercise, and human performance has led him down this career path. To him, there is nothing better than using his knowledge and gifts to serve and heal those that cross his path.
David’s treatment approach involves a comprehensive movement assessment that allows him to see the “big” picture of an injury. While it is important to treat the area that is most painful, what David has found over his 15 years of experience, is that there is almost always a region of the body (usually not painful) that is contributing to the symptoms. He also believes in spending quality time in clinic with his patients to not only get to know them but to find out what motivates them to ensure that we maximize results.
David spends his spare time reading, exercising, watching any and all sports and spending time with the people he loves. He has two kids (JD and Sebastian) and has been married to the love of his life, Mandy, since 2012.
